Water is Our Business.
On 24 January 2000,
Syarikat Pengeluar Air Sungai Selangor Sdn Bhd (SPLASH) was awarded the concession for Sungai
Selangor Water Supply Scheme Phase 3 (SSP3) by the Selangor State Government.
Implemented on a build-operate-transfer basis, SSP3 provides a safe and reliable
supply of treated water to meet the projected increase in demand within Selangor and the
Federal Territory.
SPLASH currently also manage Sungai Selangor Water Supply Scheme Phase 1 (SSP1) which
already provides 950 mld to the Klang Valley. Sungai Selangor Water Supply Scheme Phase 3
(SSP3) is to provide an additional 1,050 mld to the state of Selangor and the Federal
Territory. |

SSP3 will provide an additional 1,050mld of clean and
reliable water supply to 2 million population and industries in
Selangor and the Klang Valley. |
Largest Water Producer in Selangor by 2005.
When fully complete by 2005, SPLASH will provide a total of 2,000 mld
of treated water to Selangor and the Klang Valley, with SSP1's capacity of 950 mld and
SSP3's capacity of 1,050 mld. SPLASH will become the largest water producer in the state,
producing 2,000 mld or 43% of Selangor's total water supply.
Progress through Smart Partnership.
The SPLASH consortium comprises The Sweet Water Alliance (TSWA - 40%),
the Selangor Government's investment arm Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Berhad (KDEB - 30%) and
Gamuda Berhad (GB - 30%). It is a unique partnership combining proven capabilities and
best practices in construction, project management, operations and maintenance,
whilst ensuring benefits are shared in the overall best interests of the State and public
at large.
This collaboration recognises the State's jurisdiction over water resources and sets a
precedent in sharing operation and management expertise, as well as revenues from SSP3.
By developing the remaining major water resource in Selangor together, SPLASH is committed
to the vision of Selangor achieving industralised state status by 2005.

Sharing the Benefits.
The SSP3 project, which involves the construction of water treatment plants at Rasa and Bukit Badong,
a regulating dam, reservoir, pipelines and the realignment of the Kuala Kubu Baru-Bukit Fraser road,
have so far provided numerous jobs to the business and local communities in Kuala Kubu Bharu.
Positive economic spin-offs in terms of employment, income and productivity leading to improved
standards of living will be experienced further a field from this major infrastructure project.

In addition to providing an adequate supply of clean water vital for continued progress,
new business opportunities are created. Supporting growth in high-tech industries that
rely heavily on water. Promoting a new eco-tourism attraction with recreational facilities
and activities. Satisfying the needs of new township developments. Generating an economic
multiplier effect that results in real benefits over the long term.In particular, revenues
over a 30-year period is ensured for the Selangor State Government and economic spin-offs
will further spur investment, growth and benefits to state-owned companies.

Social and Environmental Responsibility.
Social and environmental responsibility is the core principle of SPLASH's code of ethics.
In its work to always ensure that the construction of SSP3 does not impact on the environment,
SPLASH practises strict environmental and river basin management. A commitment to social and
community development has helped uplift living standards by providing job training, jobs,
education and new homes to local communities.
Ensuring Water for the Future.
A responsible guardian of Selangor's water resources, SPLASH will take on the role of a
major water company to help the State Government ensure sustainability of the water industry,
provide an improved quality of service and ensuring there will always be enough water for
all in the State of Selangor.
