Works and land clearing are underway to prepare for construction of the Sungai Selangor Regulating Dam as part of the Sungai Selangor Water Supply Scheme Phase 3 (SSP3).

As works are carried out in the vicinity of the Kg Gerachi village, extra precautions are taken to ensure that safety of the Orang Asli is not jeopardised. So as not to allow work activities intrude and interfere with their daily business and to ensure their safety and safe passage in and out of their village, a dedicated access road was built specifically for the Orang Asli of Kg Gerachi.

The access road is not accessible to heavy vehicles and allow the Orang Asli safe and easy access to their village while avoiding the work site area. The road was built prior to the commencement of preparatory works to ensure that inconvenience to the Orang Asli is minimised.

All works at SSP3 comply with rules and regulations stipulated under the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (Act 514) and Regulations and Factories and Machinery Act 1967 (Act 139) Regulations and Rules.
