This time around, SPLASH, the organiser of the community event chose the Haemodialysis Centre in Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Klang as the venue
Graced by Selangor MB's wife Datin Seri Zahrah Kechik, the event was held wit hthe main objective of celebrating anf injecting cheer inot the patient' otherwise dull routine.
The Haemodialysis Centre run by the hospital has 130 patients who have to be treated every other day with each session lasting between three to four hours.
The event started with ceremonial speeches by Dr Mary Reddy, Azmi and Zahrah. Following that the dignitaries visited the patients who were seeking treatment at the centre to distribute hampers comprising health food sponsored by SPLASH.
The patients who seemed to enjoy the attention showered on them during the event were feted to a sumptuous feast of Hari Raya specialties before the event came to a close.
According to Azmi the event is an annual affair held at different venues. " Last year we were in Sabak Bernam. This year around we wanted to do something different and Datin Seri proposed this centre and here we are," he said.
He said SPLASH's long term vision was to be portrayed as a responsible and caring corporate citizen. With support and cooperation from the hospital, Azmi said, an opportunity was created for SPLASH to serve the community.
