Selangor Menteri Besar, YAB Dato' Dr. Mohd Khir bin Toyo met with over 500 people from the local communities of Tanjung Karang in a `Mesra Rakyat' and Hari Raya gathering and presented them with hampers and other essential items.
The recipients were from Rumah Darussalamah, Sekolah Tahfiz Batu 10 Tanjung Karang, Sekolah Tahfiz Sg. Tengi Kanan Baru and Projek Desa Kasih. Besides hampers, inmates and children of the two schools also received items necessary for their daily use. These were a wheelchair for Rumah Darussalamah and furniture for the two schools.
24 families from Projek Desa Kasih, a project undertaken by the Selangor State Government, Yayasan Membasmi Kemiskinan Negeri Selangor and Majlis Agama lslam Selangor for the hardcore poor, also received hampers, bicycles and school uniforms for their school-going children.
SPLASH sponsored the hampers, bicycles and other necessities that were given out in the event as part of its participation in various community service programmes.
